July 3 Marked the Start of the 2025 Unified National Exams

The 2025 Unified National Examinations officially began on July 3, launching with the Georgian Language and Literature exam, which was held in two sessions. The entire process was conducted in a calm and organized atmosphere.

The Director of the NAEC Nino Tsereteli, along with the newly appointed Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, Givi Mikanadze, visited examination centers to observe the process firsthand.

This year, 24 examination centers have been established across Georgia, including in major cities such as Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi, Zugdidi, Poti, Akhaltsikhe, Gori, Ozurgeti, Rustavi, Telavi, Khulo, and Ambrolauri. These centers are serving approximately 80,000 registered candidates.

The winners of the National School Olympiad 2023-2024 were Awarded

On Thursday, the 17th of October the winners of the National School Olympiad 2023-2024 academic year were awarded by the Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, Aleksandre Tsuladze, and the Director of the National Assessment and Examinations Center, Nino Tsereteli.

The Minister congratulated the outstanding students on their success, presenting them with special prizes and diplomas in recognition of their achievements.

Aleksandre Tsuladze remarked:
“Today, we celebrate the exceptional talent gathered here. This is a great victory, and I encourage you all to continue deepening your knowledge and pursuing excellence throughout your lives. Our team has already represented Georgia at the International Olympiads, and I am confident that our students will continue to bring pride to our country with many more victories ahead.
You are the future of Georgia, and I thank each of you for your hard work and success. I firmly believe in your abilities and hope that with your knowledge and dedication, you will contribute to building a brighter future for our country.”

Around 50 students were awarded during the event, with the top ten receiving additional gift vouchers.

In the 2023-2024 academic year, over 26,300 students participated in the National School Olympiad. Of these, more than 7,000 advanced to the second round, and 600 made it to the third round.

The National School Olympiad, organized annually by the National Assessment and Examinations Center, begins with an electronic first round in which all interested schools may participate. The Olympiad aims to motivate students and identify potential candidates to represent Georgia in international competitions.

Online registration for the National School Olympiad will begin on October 24 and will continue until November 14 at 6:00 p.m.

The 2024 Exams Have Started

On Wednesday, the 3rd of July the unified national exams started across all exam centers in 12 cities throughout Georgia.

This year a total of 80,000 applicants registered for the 2024 exams, which includes:

Over 18,900 applicants for the teachers’ exam.

Over 47,000 university entrants for the unified national exams.

More than 3,000 students for the student grant competition.

More than 10,000 candidates for the common master’s exam.

The unified national exams commenced with the Georgian language and literature exam at 09:00, taking place in 24 exam centers. All centers are equipped with cooling systems. Additional transportation services have been arranged from the subway to the exam centers, with details available at www.naec.ge.

The 2024 exams will be conducted in two sessions. The National Assessment and Examinations Center urges examinees to arrive punctually; failure to do so may result in exclusion from the examination process.

Participants must present an ID and a printed exam card. The card must be printed clearly and error-free on a standard paper. Only water in a plastic bottle and a gel ink pen (0.5-0.7 mm ballpoint) are permitted inside the exam room. Mobile phones and other items must be stored in designated areas upon entry.

The unified national exams will conclude with the physics exam on July 26.

Officials Oversee Final Preparations at Examination Centers

Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Youth, Gela Geladze, Director of the National Assessment and Examinations Center, Nino Tsereteli, and Director of the Educational and Scientific Infrastructure Development Agency, Irakli Kuprava, recently visited examination centers to review ongoing preparations.

The centers are nearing completion, with the final arrangements of the sectors underway. The Educational and Scientific Infrastructure Development Agency has ensured that all necessary arrangements for equipping the centers, maintaining cooling systems, and setting up computers are finished. These measures are aimed at creating a comfortable and safe environment for the examination process.

In 2024, examination centers will operate in various cities including Tbilisi, Batumi, Zugdidi, Kutaisi, Poti, Akhaltsikhe, Gori, Ozurgeti, Rustavi, Telavi, Khulo, and Ambrolauri.

The examination process is set to begin on July 3 with the Unified National Exams.

Open Door Day for Entrants

The National Assessment and Examinations Center (NAEC) organized an open door day for prospective university entrants to provide information and guidance about the upcoming 2024 Unified National Exams.

The event aimed to familiarize students with the exam structure, content, and procedures, as well as to address any questions or concerns they might have had about the exams. Attendees received comprehensive responses to their inquiries, and took part in a mock registration process to elucidate technical aspects.

Representatives of the center, including subject experts, shared detailed information on registration procedures and the preparatory phase for the exams to aspiring participants.

The National Assessment and Examinations Center intends to organize open door days across various regions of Georgia. Additionally, online sessions will be arranged, accessible to all interested parties. Report 2023

For the National Assessment and Examinations Center each new year brings forth new challenges.

In the past years, particularly during the COVID 19 outbreak, the NAEC team faced significant challenges, yet the pandemic also provided a unique opportunity to build resilience. Remarkably, 2023 marked a record number of university applicants.

More than 45,000 applicants registered for the Unified National Exams in 2023. In total, for all summer exams, NAEC had to serve more than 75,000 examinees. Creating a comfortable environment for everyone, assigning examinees to the exam centers without prolonging the exams period, delivering results efficiently in the shortest time possible, obviously was not easy; however, like in previous years, the Center managed to cope with these tasks successfully.

This year’s exam experience also shows that the number of applicants for whom age is no longer an obstacle has increased – higher education can be obtained at any age, if there is a desire for it. In this regard many inspirational stories were brought to our attention. We have watched mothers breastfeeding their babies during short exam breaks, women with children and grandchildren testing their skills in new directions. Such facts bring us joy and admiration, also hope that more and more people will be drawn to self-development and lifelong learning within the upcoming years.

Continue Studying in Georgia

An exam for applicants who are willing to continue their studies in Georgia will be held on the 12th of October for the third time this year.
The registration is open until the 6th of October 6:00 p.m.

The National Assessment and Examinations Center supports Georgian citizens’ endeavors to transfer from foreign universities to Georgian higher educational institutions. Therefore, the organization facilitates such exams to ensure more flexible schedule and broader opportunities.

Eligible candidates are citizens of Georgia who have studied, are studying or have received credits in a higher educational institution recognized in accordance with the legislation of a foreign country (not less than one semester/ 75 days).

In order to successfully pass the exam, the examinees should score more than 50% of the maximum points specified for the test.

Exams 2023 – Registration is Open

Online registration for the Unified National Examinations, Unified Masters Exam and Student Grant Competition started today at 10:00 AM. Eligible applicants should register at online.naec.ge until the 3rd of April 18:00 PM.

The Unified National Examinations are centralized, high-stakes and computer based. The whole process is standardized, every procedure including test development, administration, marking and appellation is in compliance with established regulations and applicants are in equal conditions. By means of valid, fair, and reliable educational assessment the NAEC contributes to the improvement of the quality of education in Georgia.

On Wednesday, the 1st the director of the National Assessment and Examinations Center sat down with media to discuss the registration procedures.

Dr. Sophia Gorgodze encouraged the entrants to pay attention to the registration regulations and deadlines highlighted at the NAEC’s annual “Guideline for Entrants”.

The document includes a list of educational programs, frequently asked questions, news and all the important topics related to the upcoming examination process.

Continue to Study in Georgia

On Thursday, 1st the National Assessment and Examinations Center conducted an exam for applicants who were willing to continue their studies in Georgia.

The NAEC supports Georgian citizens’ endeavors to transfer from foreign universities to Georgian higher educational institutions. Therefore, the organization facilitates such exams twice a year to ensure more flexible schedule and broader opportunities.

The exam started at 12:00 and lasted for 2 hours and 30 minutes.

In order to successfully pass the exam, the examinees should score more than 50% of the maximum points specified for the test (minimum threshold 23 points).

The exam results will be announced as soon as the papers are marked. The results will be available on the website: online.naec.ge. The applicants will be able to access their personal accounts using the password given by the NAEC on an exam day.

The registration dates for the upcoming exam date will be announced later.

Exams 2022 Have Started

The busiest days are ahead for the NAEC. Up to 90 000 registered applicants in 22 exam centers around the country will be testing out their skills and knowledge within the upcoming two months.

The first exam days of the Unified National Exams of 2022 have passed peacefully. On the 4th of July up to 95% registered examinees were present during Georgian language and literature exam.

More than 41,000 entrants have registered for the Unified National Exams this year. It is necessary for applicants to appear on time for each exam with an identity document and an exam card, which indicates the time and place of each exam – applicants will not be admitted to the exam after the registration is completed.

All centers are equipped with a cooling system and all the necessary infrastructure. Ambulances, rescue service and patrol police are mobilized at the examination centers.

The entrants have the opportunity to choose and change educational programs for several more months until the publication of the results of the appeal. This regulation has been adopted by the Center to let the examinees make decisions based on their actual results which increases their chances to be enrolled in the desired programs.

The major news of the 2022: entrants have the broader opportunity to choose the third compulsory subject as the literature, physics, chemistry, biology, geography, fine and applied arts, civic education were added to the list along with the existing subjects: mathematics and/or history.

The change does not apply to any program of the health direction and also to the method of awarding with the grant.

2022 Exam Regulations: Pandemic-related regulations that have been in place for the past two years will be abolished for the 2022 exams. Examinees may only wear a mask if they wish to.

As for those who will officially be diagnosed with Covid-19, they will not be excluded from the examination process. In addition, one exam session of the relevant subject will be conducted for such examinees after at least 7 days of infection. An additional session will be scheduled only once per subject.

The National Assessment and Examinations Center determines the participants of the additional examination session based on the information collected from the database of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health.

In parallel with the Unified National Exams in 2022, the National Assessment and Examinations Center is also conducting a Common Master’s Degree Exam and a Student Grant Competition. The center will also conduct the Subject/Professional Skills/Senior Special Teacher Examinations.
