Sophia Gorgodze

The Director of the National Assessment and Examinations Center in Georgia since 2018.

She has earned her Ed.M in International Education Policy from Harvard Graduate School of Education and her PhD from Ilia State University in Tbilisi. She has specific expertise in classroom assessment, national and international assessments and teacher pre-service and in-service education. Sophia has served in many different positions in national as well as international organizations including National Teachers Professional Development Center (Director), IREX (Professional Development Expert) etc.

Sophia is an Associate Professor at Ilia State University where she teaches future teachers and school administrators since 2008. Her recent publications can be seen and downloaded from this link

Kakha Jamburia

The Deputy Director of the National Assessment and Examinations Center in Georgia since 2018.

Dr. Jamburia is a philologist, education expert, trainer and researcher who has been an active member and manager at the NAEC since the establishment of the organization.

Education

1967-1981 – Tbilisi State University – Faculty of Philology;

Degree – Doctor of Philological Sciences.

From 2018 – until now, the Deputy Director of the National Assessment and Examination Center;

2000 – 2018 – head of the Georgian Language and Literature group of the National Assessment and Examination Center;

1981 – 2000 – Researcher at the Institute of Georgian Literature.

Levan Sabauri

The Deputy Director of the National Assessment and Examinations Center in Georgia since 2019.

Dr. Sabauri has a wealth of experience of teaching, practicing and managing in the fields of Economics, Finances and Education. He is an active lecturer and an enthusiast of progress through lifelong learning.

Davit Chankotadze

The Deputy Director of the National Assessment and Examinations Center in Georgia since 2018.

Mr. Chankotadze has a vast experience in ICT. For more than 30 years he has worked as a programmer locally as well as internationally. He joined the NAEC back in 2005 and has been an active lead ever since.
