National School Olympiad Results

National School Olympiad results are already available. 120 brightest minds from around 60 000 pupils have won the major national educational contest in twelve different subjects.

The National Assessment and Examinations Center has been organizing and administering National School Olympiads since 2009. The winners of the national rounds are typically awarded with diplomas and gifts. These students also compile teams for international Olympiads.

National School Olympiads are an excellent platform to hone the learning process of students. Olympiads improve the performance of students in a big way. These exams let in an optimistic approach in students. By participating in Olympiads, the students develop a natural aspiration to learn and gain knowledge.

The questions that come in National School Olympiads are mostly based on the syllabus of the school. The pattern of questions in this exam is somewhat different from that of the school. The students need to have a better and quicker ability to answer such questions.

More and more students are willing to participate in National School Olympiad. One of the reasons for these dynamics is the hybrid assessment model offered by NAEC. The first round of the Olympiad is held online giving all of the interested students an opportunity to try, while the second and the third rounds are administered in person.

The First Round of the National School Olympiad

The first round of the National School Olympiad of the 2022-2023 academic year was held electronically from December 9 to December 13.

Any student from grade 7 to grade 12 was eligible to participate remotely anytime during the set dates. The testing time was limited and counted by the special computer program. Tests with different level of difficulty was used in STEM subjects depending on the grades of the participants. However, the same level of difficulty was offered in humanities subjects. The items mostly focused on reasoning and problem solving as well as the general educational background of students.

More than 56 700 students took part in the first round of the of the National School Olympiad including pupils with special educational needs and convicted juveniles.

The second round of the Olympiad will be held in the examination centers and the first 1000 participants with 60% or above in the first round will be eligible. Only the brightest top 50 students in each subject will move to the third round and compete for the national award. Also, the winners of the National School Olympiad will group up for the international Olympiads in the relevant subjects.

The main goal of the Olympiad is to stimulate the learning process and raise the motivation of students.

The National School Olympiad 2021-2022 Award Ceremony

The winners of the National School Olympiad of the 2021-2022 academic year were awarded by the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Tamar Makharashvili and the Director of the National Assessment and Examinations Center Sophia Gorgodze.

The first, second and third place winners were awarded with gift cards and diplomas.

Special thanks went to the “Association for Support of Information Technology Training and Informatics Olympiads” and its head, Mr. Giorgi Mandaria, for holding the Informatics Training Olympiad for the 2021-2022 academic year.

The National School Olympiad was organized in three rounds in the following subjects: Georgian language and literature, Georgian language for students of non-Georgian language schools, mathematics, history, geography, physics, chemistry, biology, foreign language.

More than 31,900 students expressed their desire to participate in the first round. Students had an opportunity to participate remotely from any computer connected to the Internet due to pandemic.

The second and third rounds were held at the examination centers. The top ten contestants were identified in all subjects and age categories. The winning students will become members of the team that will participate in the International Olympiads on behalf of Georgia.

The National School Olympiad is held every year. The purpose of the Olympiad is to stimulate the learning process and encourage students.

The National School Olympiad 2021-2022 has Concluded

The purpose of the Olympiad is to stimulate the learning process and increase the motivation of students. Also, to identify candidates for the teams that will participate in the International Olympiads on behalf of Georgia.

The finalists of the National School Olympiad 2021-2022 have shared views and pieces of advice to their peers and future participants.

“I made up my mind to participate in the Olympiad to demonstrate my mathematical abilities. The process went very smoothly, we took the tests in a peaceful and quiet environment which met all of the Covid-19 regulations. This is not my first time participating in the Olympiads, but this is my first time in the finals. This is very uplifting for me because even getting to the finals means a lot. I definitely urge my fellow students to try. “

The Georgian team is formed by the winners at the national level – this is an extraordinary opportunity that we should all use. This type of contests increase healthy competition among students, develop a desire to be better, to achieve better results both at a school level and across the country. This is my second time participating. If I get another chance, I will get involved in the future. I would like to say to those who are considering to participate in the next National School Olympiad: nothing is impossible or even difficult if you set your mind to it.”

“I am in the tenth grade; therefore, this is my first National School Olympiad. I am taking a German language test – today is the third round. My main motivation for participating was to gain new experience.
Participation in the Olympiads will be especially useful for those students who plan to continue their studies abroad. I think it improves the ability to learn, get used to exams and network with other children. There’s no need for special preparation for the Olympiad – it is not necessary at all. I followed the school curriculum. The main thing is to trust yourself and write with confidence. “

Registration for the National School Olympiad 2021-2022

The registration process for the National School Olympiad 2021-2022 started today and will conclude on the 26^th of November 18:00 PM.

The 10-12 grade students who are willing to participate in this year’s Olympiad should contact school administration and register formally according to the specific age group in each subject.

The List of Subjects

Georgian language and literature,

Georgian language for students of non-Georgian language schools,

Mathematics, History, Geography,

Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Foreign language.

The National School Olympiad will be held in three rounds and each round will be based on the National Curriculum. The student who accumulates not less than 60% of the maximum score of the relevant subject test and is among the top 1000 participants of the relevant class and subject ranking list will be eligible to pass to the second round of the National School Olympiad 2021-2022.

The Third Round of the National School Olympiad has started

The third round of the National School Olympiad started on April 9 with math and French language and will conclude on April 12 with biology. The testing is conducted in compliance with all the regulations developed by the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia.

More than 600 students take part in the final third round. Each of them has gained at least 50% of the maximum score of the relevant subject test and has been ranked among the top fifty participants in the respective class and subject ranking list.

This year, the first round of the Olympiad, in which more than 30,700 students expressed their desire to participate, was held electronically in a different format, due to the pandemic. Students were able to participate remotely, via the Internet. Unlike the first round, the second round of the Olympiad was held in schools and was attended by more than 6,000 students.

The winner of the National School Olympiad for the 2020-2021 academic year will become the student who accumulates 60% of the maximum score of the relevant subject test and will be among the top ten participants in the relevant class and subject ranking list.

All three rounds of the Olympiad are based on the national curriculum. The aim of the Olympiad is to stimulate the learning process and increase the motivation of students. Also, identifying candidates for the teams that will participate in the International Olympiads on behalf of Georgia.

The Second Round of the National School Olympiad Will Start from the 8th of March 2021

The second round of the National School Olympiad 2020-2021 will be launched throughout Georgia on the 8^th of March and continue until the 12^th of March.

More than 6,000 students will take part in the second round of the Olympiad. Testing will be conducted in compliance with the regulations developed by the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia.

The Centralized National School Olympiad for 10-12 grade students will be conducted in the following subjects: Georgian language and literature, Georgian language for students of non-Georgian language schools, mathematics, history, geography, physics, chemistry, biology, foreign language.

More than 30,700 students expressed their desire to participate in the National School Olympiad. The first round was held in a different format, taking into account the number of Covid-19 infected citizens in the country. Students could participate remotely from any computer connected to the Internet.

The National School Olympiad is held in three rounds and each round is based on the National Curriculum.

The student who accumulates not less than 50% of the maximum score of the relevant subject test and is among the first fifty participants of the relevant class and subject ranking list will be eligible to pass to the third round of the National School Olympiad 2020-2021.

The first round of the National School Olympiad 2020-2021

The first round of the National School Olympiad 2020-2021 was held from the 16^th to 20^th of November. Pupils from all over the country took part in the Olympiad online, from homes.

The contestants were given an opportunity to log in at www.naec.ge from 09:00 AM to 20:00 PM with their ID, password and complete the assignments. The students were able to see their results on the screen at the end of the test.

One should get at least 60% of the maximum score and be among the top 1000 students in the subject ranking list in order to make it to the second round. The ranking list of each round will be published by the National Assessment and Examinations Center on the website, in a special program, which will be accessible to the school administration.

If a participant was the winner of the Olympiad of the relevant subject of the previous year and for good reason failed to register or was not present in the first round of the Olympiad, he / she was given a right to participate in the next round of the Olympiad.

The Olympiad was held according to a specific grade in the following subjects:

Mathematics;

Georgian language and literature;

Georgian language and literature for students from non-Georgian (ethnic minority) schools;

History;

Geography;

Physics;

Chemistry;

Biology;

Foreign languages: English, German, French, Russian.

In case of any violation or other concern the Olympiad participant is entitled to apply to the local educational resource center by 17:00PM of the second day after the end of the relevant testing.

The National Training Olympiad is held in three rounds and each round is based on the National Curriculum.
